After twelve long years, I finally returned to Mexcio Puebla. A place that holds deep roots and countless memories. This visit wasn’t about sightseeing or checking off destinations. It was about reconnecting with family, the old house, and with a slow way of life.

Spending time with my relatives felt like slipping back into a rhythm I didn’t know I still remembered. Mornings started slow, a trip down to the farm where the squash was almost ready to be harvest. There was no rush, no endless notifications, no obligations—just the gentle unfolding of the day.

Out in the countryside, time seems to stretch. People move with intention, meals are shared without hurry, and the smallest things become a calming experience. A walk through the fields, watching the sunset, chatting on the porch, all become moments to savor. There’s a certain peace in that simplicity, and it reminded me of what it means to truly be present.

This trip was a quiet homecoming, not just to a place, but to a feeling. I left with a full heart, a deeper connection to my family, and a renewed appreciation for the beauty of slowing down.

Food Report

One of the last meals I had there was one of the most memorable. A simple taco made with 'flor de calabaza'. The taste is forever ingrained in me and I look forward to going back to taste it again.
